October 18

PRESCHOOL

The 2-5 year olds are learning about God, Jesus and Holy Spirit through activity, story, creativity, and worship!

This week they’re being introduced to the new big idea that God can do miracles! Their story will reference 1 Kings 18 where they’re going to learn about “Elijah and the Fireball from Heaven.” They will get captivated in the story of learning that there are no other gods besides God that are alive and can do miracles! They will hear about how God caused fire to come from Heaven in response to Elijah’s prayers.

Their memory verse for this week is “With people, this is impossible. But with God, all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26 (NIrV)

The 1st-6th graders have been studying The Beatitudes this month. They are starting to explore the meanings of Jesus’s Blessings through his Sermon on The Mount and they’re diving into deeper understanding of how they can be blessed by living a life that’s totally dependent on their need for God and following in His ways.

Over the course of October the students will be memorizing Matthew 5:3-12 together!
